Our Teams
We are active in building the social, educational and recreational facets of our members.

In support of the union's basic functions such as collective bargaining, grievance handling and organising the unorganised, SIEU is also active in building the social, educational and recreational facets of our members. The union's activities are initiated and implemented by specialised committees created for different needs and purposes from time to time.

1. Industrial Relations Committee
   This committee handles grievances, collective agreement negotiation and union-management relations.
   
   
2. Education & Publicity Committee
   Communication is everything here! The main challenge for this committee is to increase members' awareness of their rights and responsibilities through quarterly newsletters like The Assureds and this website. This committee is also tasked to care for the training needs of union leaders and members.
   
   
3. Organising Committee
   Committee members here constantly think of clever and innovative ways to market and recruit union members. After all, with bigger membership strength, SIEU has more bite and muscles.
   
   
4. Women & Welfare Committee
   With loads of charity and care in their hearts, committee members regularly plan visits to the less fortunate. Other activities include cooking, beauty, healthcare classes and family talks for both our female and male members.
   
   
5. Sports & Recreation Committee
   From bowling to golfing, this committee does it all in the name of action and fun. Scoring high on adventure and building comradeship in the union, they are at the forefront in participating all union activities.
   
6. Young SIEU Committee
   The committee serving the interest of the younger cohort of insurance workers. A source for leadership renewal in SIEU. With them you can expect the unexpected. Young SIEU is affiliated to Young NTUC. Visit our forum here!
   
   
7. Counselling Committee
   Listening skills and good counselling techniques are what committee members here acquire. They offer their time and a nice, warm heart when members are in need of a listening ear.
   
   
8. Third Chapter Committee
   Very much young at heart, members of this committee are active in SIEU's activities to maintain their strong relationship with SIEU and the Labour Movement even after retirement.
   
   
9. Seminar Committee
   From East to West and North to South, this committee plans SIEU's travel seminar from the country of visit, way down to the finest detail. Held Annually, SIEU leaders, delegates, members, families and friends come together for an escape away from our daily routines.
