Be a pro-active SIEU member !
| SIEU
is only as good as its members get. SIEU can only succeed
with the close co-operation and support of all insurance
employees. It is important that as a member, you must
be prepared to play a more active role by providing moral
support to your union officials, co-operating with the
Shopsteward by assisting in anyway possible. If you are
able to contribute more, you should consider standing
for election to represent your colleagues at the work
place. Do you know SIEU is managed by honorary officials
whom are also employees in insurance companies just like
you? |

Each company or unit where SIEU is represented, there is a
union representative or Shopsteward elected by members in
that company. Your Shopsteward is a very important person
in the unit.
- When
things go wrong at the workplace, they are the first person
to reach for help
- If
you have a problem, the Shopsteward can try to help or contact
the union office for you
- If
there is information you want about SIEU or about the terms
and conditions of work, your Shopsteward is the person to
ask

She is responsible for making sure that all SIEU members get
what they are entitled to SIEU is
you. Without members SIEU will cease to exist. Your views
and opinions matter, so ventilate them! Seize all opportunities
to let us know what you think and what you expect. Make a
special effort to attend SIEU meetings or other organised
educational activities. In other words, CHIP IN! |
